Homeland Insecurity: Warning! “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND…
Emergency Alert “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT…” which went out on January 13, 2018 was later reported by the New York Times headline as, “Hawaii Missile Alert Wasn’t Accidental.”
But was the missile threat alert really the result of an ineptitude worker OR infiltration? Appears US still can’t get their shit together. Hawaii faced a deadly fire this year where residents were not alerted.
So WTF happened? A state employee “pressed the wrong button.” Yet, today, everyone’s worried about Artificial Intelligence blasting us all to ‘kingdom come’ ???????????
Here’s how it went down, “a midnight supervisor at the agency began an unplanned drill during a shift change. The supervisor pretended to be from the United States Pacific Command in a phone call placed to day-shift workers.” Why would an US employee need to pretend? Or, was it hacked?
Ruskis, Lockbit, Vovan and Lexus sound familiar! 🙂
One wonders if the Federal Communications Commission’s attempt “to avoid spreading panic across broad swaths of the public” endangered the pubic by changing the rules alerts.
“Under the new rules, alerts can be directed to areas within a tenth of a mile of the target audience. Under the existing system, alerts often go to an entire county, spanning hundreds of square miles.” Here’s where they fucked up and why people got burned.
Basically, the plan of “public safety officials…deciding to send alerts for fires, hurricanes and other emergencies, while balancing concerns of raising fears among people who are not immediately in harm’s way” backfired, no pun intended.
Important to consider, “false alarm also exposed some vulnerabilities in the military’s Pacific Command headquarters in Hawaii…the command’s operations center did not have immediate access to the state’s unclassified alert system. Mobile devices are not allowed in the command headquarters for security reasons.” Good thing it doesn’t apply to the public.
US sent out an Emergency Test on October 4, 2023, three days before the October 7th surprise attack on Israel. Now consider that “The episode in Hawaii also revealed major differences in how alerts are sent. In places like Houston, Chicago and New York City…at least one other person’s approval is required to send an alert, according to public safety experts.”
Question is, do you trust your government and the competence of this other person?
President Biden’s Administration is said to be responsible for opening the floodgates at the southern border creating serious implications to US Security and Economy. Three cities in question with the largest influx are Houston, Chicago and New York City. Hmm, coincidence?
Worried Joe will lose 2024 election. No need. He’s already lost. US officially being threaten.
Time to Call Commish Bratton!
Speaking of ineptitude workers and anticipating a strike, how will Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas target the terrorists when he admits no reason to track the thousands let into the country in the last three years? Oh sure, he’ll be gone next year along with the bullshit Biden administration. But damage is done!
Terrified look on Alex’s face intensified by his eye popping sockets during a recent hearing on Homeland Security. Bet ya now wish you had done your job. Too late! Thanks to you, sleeper cells were waved in!
Hmm, wonder if Castro is jumping out of his grave laughing at this Cuban American and how Mayorkas’ inactions will make the ‘Day of Pigs’ look like a day in the park compared to what awaits the Americans. 🙂
So who can the US call for security? My first thought was hiring British company G4S, reported to be world largest security firm. But then I recalled the 2016 mass shooting involving Omar Mateen, a security guard they employed.
Yet, if it’s American you want, no problem. Recall the Wackenhut Corporation of Coral Gables, Florida. It is said to be founded by George Wackenhut and three former FBI agents. But Wackenhut sold out to the Danes and they in turn got bought out by the Brits. Right, were back to G4S, only Wackenhut became G4S Secure Solutions (USA).
Not for long. Another buyout. “G4S saga ends as shareholders accept $5.3 billion Allied Universal offer.” You may know Allied Universal from its beginnings in the sixties as a janitorial service turned security company. Well, Swedes, ‘how you like them apples’? Still, shit is moving fast. Sweden’s Securitas AB, something tells me competition won’t be as fierce as you think.
Yep, one man’s scrap business is another’s spy syndicate. Don’t trust the feds, Brits or ‘cleaners’? No problem. How’s a former New York Commissioner?
William Joseph Bratton has a pretty good record of getting rid of scum bags. From Boston, to New York to Los Angeles, there is no hoodlum that can hide from the Commish. Sir, looks like New York and California needs you to clean up the mess Democrats created. Right, implement your ‘quality-of-life’ policy asap!
Sure, you’ve helped the Brits but it appears your advice as chairman of US Homeland Security Advisory Council is either not working or not getting through Secretary Mayorkas’ noggin. Counterterrorism? Your vast experience and role as Executive Chairman of the Teneo Risk division may be called on.
In the meantime, with all their advancements and surveillance, U.S. continues to fail in their deterrence. In the aftermath of any attack, all they can do is issue late Emergency Alerts or ‘Missile Alert Errors.’
Nuclear v AI
Nuclear and AI may be the least of concerns for Americans both on the frontlines and homeland. Fire pits are not only reserved to Iraq and Afghanistan or elsewhere abroad.
Celebrating Veterans Day at home? Sure, as you look upon the skies to the WWII prop planes, some of you spectators literally faced airborne toxins earlier in the week from a burning large blimp hangar at the old Tustin Marine Corp Air Station. Adding wind to the fire, the Santa Ana’s of Orange County, California blew the debris West.
Betch ya didn’t get an Emergency Alert! Seems US government either sends alerts in error or not at all. Look, as to Hawaii, a government employee either ‘fucked up’ or hacked the United States Pacific Command.
In a digitally live “World Political” Map, we see in real time nuclear power plants being reactivated or newly created. Question is, does the US actually expect DPRK, China, Russia or Iran to strike? If so, ya think they’d get their alert communications operating effectively.
Yet, Congress is concerned with regulating AI? If these numskulls have failed to regulate railroads, an old industry they surely understand, how the heck are they going to regulate what they don’t know shit about, Artificial Intelligence!
Speaking of knuckleheads, former BigTech employees who preach of ethics and sell books on being ‘humane,’ cannot answer a basic direct question: How exactly will AI nuke humanity? Tristan, as I said to the old Google geezer Hinton, just take your money and run!
Shysters, when the ‘trolley problem” presents itself, better pray you’re not chosen as the ‘sacrificial lamb’ when it comes to those in real power pulling the switch.
Enough with idiocies! Easy to instill fear of simple search tools and algorithms when you understand zilch about physics let alone nuclear. Take seriously into consideration: Revenge of “Rapucinni’s Daughter”? North Korea Nuclear Rising Power in the Eye of Five.
Fools in doubt? Ask Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Future generations stand to gain and lose in the electrically powered world. Or, Oppenheimer’s fear realized, “I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.”
“Modern science says: ‘The sun is the past, the earth is the present, the moon is the future.’ From an incandescent mass we have originated, and into a frozen mass we shall turn. Merciless is the law of nature, and rapidly and irresistibly we are drawn to our doom. – Nikola Tesla
