CEOs Ӫ “Hot Seat” to “THE CHAIR”
Steve Jobs, the man behind the “iPhone,” is himself a product of a time and an idea of having the “Whole Wide World in your Hands.”
A beautiful illusion of how with a “smartphone” you can “hold your life in your hand” – texting and sharing it all. When in reality, it is the toymaker who sold you the puppet who pulls your strings.
Days of “sex and free love” morphed into decades. A select few sold the world on the idea that their inherited “power and greed” was best left to them as they held your lifeblood in their hands. Recall the bloody female “guru” compared to Jobs who wanted to “change the world” but was charged with fraud.
Generals, statesmen, politicians, and celebrities among others actually believed her bloody bullshit. In time, the truth comes out shining light on bastards and wenches alike.
Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google “Testimonials” made at the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust Law appear to have circumvented US Department of Justice and other agencies’ attempts to put a chokehold on the four companies:
My Redirect of CEOs on the “Hot Seat”
Amazon. Mr. Bezos, of the time allowed, you spent about one third discussing your parents? Sir, the hearing was not about the decisions or actions of your mother or adopted father. As litigators in court say, your story can be argued as fallacy of relevance and an appeal to pity. Still trying to make your biological father proud? Perhaps you confused this hearing with that of social welfare programs for unwed mothers? Sir, the hearing is about your actions and inactions as the CEO of Amazon.
Apple. Mr. Cook, no apparent appeals but did you really need to bring up Steve Jobs to make your case? As I referenced in a January 2019 paper, “We need something to believe in. People believe in Apple. They believe in Jobs.” Mr. Cook, perhaps we are “chasing a ghost” as you suggested. We want to believe the “Messiah,” the leader of Apple is not gone and left us with an operating officer. Clearly, Jeff, you fell far from the Apple tree.
Facebook. Mr. Zuckerberg, no question you stood your ground as you did in the 2019 Shareholder’s Meeting. Beyond a reasonable doubt you appear to have been prepped properly by your counsel. Spectators watching this circus seem more entertained by the trained monkey, than the old fool, the clown and powerful growl of the tiger.
Google. Mr. Pichai, I was impressed by you being able to hold your own. Not only did you not need to refer to Google’s two founders or their key role in the company as did Mr. Cook, but you pointed to your relevant contributions to the company and its purported innovations. And like a patient and stealth tiger masterfully responded to questions.
Verdict: “THE CHAIR” or Cryonics
“Lawmakers,” enough with the asinine hearings and let these companies do what US military invested time and money in. Stop wasting tax payer time and money. Cut the deals and grab your cut.
Ken Buck (R-Colorado). Questioning all four CEOs, you asked if they had found practices of exploitation of labor, etc… Your question points only to actions in the past and relies on their having first-hand knowledge of these practices.
Sir, do you really think the ‘left hand’ at the factory floors tells the ‘right hand’ of the day to day? Right, perhaps you need to talk to the hand and have it testify.
Going from CEO to the Chair, Founders will always be associated with their initial company, the real thing or a racket, no matter how many start-ups they buy or CEOs they put in the “hot seat.”
“Lawmakers,” the public has had enough with your playing “musical chairs.” All four have been judged by the “court of public opinion.” Verdict: “THE CHAIR.”
As they await sentencing, wishing to always be remembered in their afterlife, some Founders may avoid the “heat” by being frozen seeking immortality. Real human figures at a Flesh & Bones Museum. 🙂
